12141/H/Manohar Singh
Major
Manohar Singh Bhati came to Hunter Squadron from Sainik School Chittorgarh - the sandy deserts of Rajasthan! He had all the tricks in his bag to maintain his poise, balance and a happy attitude in toughest moments of his initial stay at the NDA. He was always happy, high-spirited, and a regular contributor to the cause of tobacco growers. Such exclusive and manly tastes often found him scaling the Singarh on weekends. Amongst his coursemates in Hunter, he was one of the contenders to be called a 'Tau'- one who could give a sane and workable solution to a task at hand or a challenge faced by the course. He maintained the much-fancied 2nd enclosure in every NDA cross-country run and ran it seven times, and was also a star Hockey player. Commissioned into the 4th Jat, Manohar maintained a quiet profile. He opted for premature retirement and joined Rajasthan Home Guards. After serving there for three years, he left us forever on 06 Dec 2002 due to a cardiac arrest.
He is survived by his lady wife Raj Kanwar presently serving in the Govt. of Rajasthan's Civil Defence department at Jodhpur. Their daughter Garima is pursuing her career in Credit Suisse, Singapore, and Nilima is doing her PG in Berlin. Looking at the success stories of the two daughters due to family support, besides the hard work of the mother, one feels happy that our friend in the heavens above would be at peace.
🙏May his soul rest in peace🙏
